Community Groups
Community Groups are designed to fulfill Mercy’s vision and mission by gathering and equipping recipients of God’s mercy, in order to reflect that mercy to the world around us.
The tradition of meeting together is as old as the church. The book of Acts says the believers “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers” and describes them as “day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes… praising God and having favor with all people,” the Lord adding to their number day by day, those who were being saved (Acts 2:42, 46-47).
In our groups we:
-
- Love one another – John 13:34-25
- Speak the truth to one another – Eph. 4:15
- Show hospitality to one another – 1 Pet. 4:9-10
- Serve one another – Gal. 5:13
- Carry one another’s burdens – Gal. 6:2
- Encourage each other – 1 Thess. 4:18
- Build one another up – 1 Thess. 5:11
- Spur one another on to love and good deeds – Heb. 10:24
- Teach one another – Col. 3:16
