Our Commitment to Theological Excellence
Mercy Presbyterian Church is proud to be an official LAMP Seminary Learning site recognized by the Presbyterian Church in America’s General Assembly. Our partnership with LAMP Seminary allows us to offer a robust theological education that prepares men and women for meaningful ministry and leadership within the church. We are dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth and academic development of our students, ensuring they are well-equipped for ordination and service in the PCA.
What IS LAMP?
LAMP is a seminary that conducts classes remotely, through required reading/instruction and cohort-driven discussion groups at a local learning site (now at Mercy). The LAMP program is suitable for men who want to be ordained in the PCA or others (including women) who desire to have a theological education in their continued service to the body of Christ. The course of study culminates in the granting of a BDIV or an MDIV degree and is a ministry of the PCA. Classes are affordable ($250 per class, plus opportunities for financial assistance) and the format is easily accessible. Students will complete approximately two hours of reading and two hours of writing each week.
