Women’s Ministry

Point of Contact: Jessi Pearson (click to view in directory)

The Women of Mercy strive to gather together, encourage one another, and pray as we are called to in Scripture. We seek to help equip the women of Mercy in a variety of ways, including weekly bible studies and summer books clubs. We also seek to build and deepen relationships through various avenues, such as large group events and retreats. Our desire is that each woman at Mercy feels supported, encouraged, and pointed to the truths found in Scripture. We would love for all women to be involved and participate in the Women’s Ministry!

Women’s LAKE DAY

Join us for a day to relax, reflect, and restore on Saturday, July 13, from 9:30am-1pm. We will be having a day retreat and spending the morning worshipping the Lord at Smith Mountain Lake at the home of Kimberly and Bob Hall. We will enjoy the lake and also focus on Isaiah 55:1–2 with a discussion led by Kimberly Hall.

We will then enjoy a tasty lunch together and water activities! There is no need to bring anything except a Bible, bathing suit if you want to do water activities, and yourself.

Space is limited, so please register here.

Women’s Park Fellowship

Women of Mercy, you’re invited to our weekly fellowship time at the park behind the Forest Library. We will be casually meeting up every Thursday morning through the summer to walk on the trails around the park and to spend time fellowshipping at the playground and pavilion.

Park Fellowship is meeting weekly and will continue through August.

All are welcome! Questions? Email Jessi Pearson (view in directory).

New Mom Ministry

We are looking for older women in the church who would be willing to support a new mom through the first few months of their baby’s life. This would only require 1-2 hours per week (needs depend on the mom but could include: being willing to go on a walk with them, help clean their house the first few weeks, hold their baby while they get things done, or just be available as a resource and encouragement).
Pregnant mamas will be given a list of ladies who have volunteered to choose from (based on location around town, etc) prior to delivering, and the women’s ministry will help connect the older and younger ladies! If you’re willing to be on the list to reach out to new moms, please let Jessi Pearson know (click to view in directory)!
