Women’s Ministry

Point of Contact: Jessi Pearson (click to view in directory)

The Women of Mercy strive to gather together, encourage one another, and pray as we are called to in Scripture. We seek to help equip the women of Mercy in a variety of ways, including weekly bible studies and summer books clubs. We also seek to build and deepen relationships through various avenues, such as large group events and retreats. Our desire is that each woman at Mercy feels supported, encouraged, and pointed to the truths found in Scripture. We would love for all women to be involved and participate in the Women’s Ministry!

Women and girls of all ages are welcome!

We will be having a fancy tea party and enjoying some delicious treats. Please sign up so we know how many to expect!
We also need people to sign up to sponsor the decor and china for a table and/or to bring a tea treat to share. We look forward to seeing you there!

SUMMER BOOK CLUBS

Attention all Women!  Please consider signing up for one of our Mercy summer book clubs this summer.

We will be going through Tim Keller’s book “The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness; the Path to True Christian Joy.”  This book shows us that gospel humility means we can stop connecting every experience, every conversation with ourselves and can thus be free from self-condemnation.  Study questions will be provided for the book for those who sign up.

Meeting times:

Tuesday evenings,  June 3-July 29*, from 6:45-8:30pm

Wednesday mornings, June 4-July 30*, from 9:30-11:15am (childcare provided)

*neither group will meet the week of July 4

park fellowship

Women of Mercy, you’re invited to our weekly fellowship time at the park behind the Forest Library. We will be casually meeting up every Thursday morning at through the summer, at 10am, to walk on the trails around the park and to spend time fellowshipping at the playground and pavilion, weather permitting.

Our first Park Fellowship will be next Thursday, May 15, and will continue weekly through August 7.

All are welcome!

PROVEN WOMEN

If you are a women who struggles with sexual integrity, or has a husband who does, and want to experience victory in these struggles, Proven Women’s groups will be starting this fall.  If you are interested in being a part of one of these groups or just want more information about them please email Linda Waugh (click to view in directory).

New Mom Ministry

We are looking for older women in the church who would be willing to support a new mom through the first few months of their baby’s life. This would only require 1-2 hours per week (needs depend on the mom but could include: being willing to go on a walk with them, help clean their house the first few weeks, hold their baby while they get things done, or just be available as a resource and encouragement).
Pregnant mamas will be given a list of ladies who have volunteered to choose from (based on location around town, etc) prior to delivering, and the women’s ministry will help connect the older and younger ladies! If you’re willing to be on the list to reach out to new moms, please let Jessi Pearson know (click to view in directory)!
